Newly registered patients can book a health check medical appointment with the Treatment Room. The consultation is usually conducted by a Healthcare assistant and may include measurements of blood pressure, weight, height and urinalysis. Diet and alcohol consumption, exercise, smoking status and allergies may be discussed.

If you are aged between 40-74 years, you may have a blood test to check your cholesterol and then be offered a follow up health promotion appointment to discuss ways of reducing your risk of heart disease and stroke.

We can issue useful advice sheets such as diet and weight reduction, stopping smoking, reducing blood pressure and symptom checkers for breast and testicular cancers.
